Dorado Hires Sun Microsystems Executive to Head Worldwide Sales Organization
Seasoned Internet Software Executive to Lead Dorado into New Era of Expansion
San Mateo, Calif.—September 15, 2003—Dorado, the leader in Demand Chain Management for home lending, today announced the appointment of Edward M. DiRocco to the position of vice president, worldwide sales. In this role, DiRocco will oversee both the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the company’s worldwide sales operations. DiRocco will provide critical leadership as Dorado prepares for a new phase of growth within the United States and moves into global markets.
DiRocco has 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the Internet and enterprise software industries. He has served in management positions in direct sales and business development for companies including Sun Microsystems, NeXT Computer, Powersoft Corporation, and Lighthouse Design.
Most recently, DiRocco held the positions of United States software sales director and software sales director for the U.S. Financial Markets for Sun Microsystems. In this position, DiRocco focused on strategic customers including Citibank, Putnam Investments, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, and ABN AMRO. DiRocco started at Sun in 1999 as the northeast director of sales for the Sun/Netscape Alliance with a focus on providing Web services and e-commerce solutions to the market. Under DiRocco’s leadership, this organization became the number-one revenue-producing software group within Sun.
“Ed’s enterprise Web services software experience and track record of consistently meeting or surpassing revenue goals made him a natural choice for this position,” said Dain Ehring, president and CEO, Dorado. “Ed’s appointment is critical for helping Dorado achieve our goals during this next phase of growth. His strong leadership, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction will contribute significantly to the success of our company and our sales organization.”
“I am pleased to join a company that is so well positioned in its industry,” DiRocco said. “With our Web services-based technologies, world-class management team, and top-tier customer list, Dorado is set to establish a new computing paradigm for the home lending industry. I look forward to working with our customers as we continue to bring leading-edge solutions to the marketplace. Along with our business partners, I believe we can help our customers lower the cost of doing business while growing their overall market presence.”
